Google - Yahoo Deal
Last June Google and Yahoo announced a new agreement for Google to display Adwords results with Yahoos search results. Google will share a percentage of the revenue with Yahoo.
Google will handle a number of search queries made on Yahoo in the United States and Canada to improve results with related advertisements.
According to Kovacevich "we continue to cooperate with regulators as that process continues. Ultimately, we have confidence that they'll be able to conduct their review within that time period."
The two parties delay their plans for three months for the U.S. Department of Justice to review and approve the agreement.
‘Facing U.S. Justice Department scrutiny of its advertising partnership with Yahoo, will proceed with the agreement by early October’, according to Schmidt.
Schmidt had said that "we are going to move forward," adding that regulators have "not indicated one way or the other how they're dealing with us."
‘Google isn't seeing much of an effect from the slowing economy because advertisers are devoting more of their budgets to Web-search links’, said Schmidt.
